As autumn slowly unfolds, I’ve been thinking of ways to synchronize my activities with the change of seasons. I don’t know about you but I think there are many things to appreciate about Autumn. The fall foliage, the crispier air, the sweet smell of pumpkin spice when enter a coffee shop. Fall is a busy season for most people. Many of us are heading back to school or work after summer vacation. Yet, if we think about how our ancestors lived, it was the opposite. Fall was a time to slow down from work, thankfulness and harvest. I want to go back that. It’s easy to overlook the importance of rest when you’re caught up in balancing work, school, and a social life. I’ve came up with some lovely ways to slowly enjoy this autumn. Take a look and jot down the activities you want to do this season.

Decorate your home for the fall

Kick off the season with some fall decorations! Christmas doesn’t have to be the only time you decorate. Bring in the autumn beauty into your home with fall wreaths, pumpkins, fallen leaves, etc…

Seasonal recipes

With the chilly air settling in, now is the perfect time to enjoy a hot beverage. Hot chocolate and lattes are a go- to for many. But you don’t have to stick to that. You can get creative and try out some fall recipes. Pumpkin stew or butternut squash soups are considerable options.

Have a meal by the candlelight

Had a long day at work? Slow down with a meal by the candlelight.

Have a bonfire

What perfect time to have a bonfire but in the fall? The beach is a great spot to do so. Search your local area to see if open burning is permitted. Then pack up some food, marshmallows, and beverages. And have a cozy night out by the waves.

Go on a hayride

Depending on where you live, you could go on a hayride. Hayrides are a fun way to spend time outside and get some fresh air.

Stargaze in your backyard

Fall season is a great time to go out and stargaze. It gets dark early which means you don’t have to stay up late. It’s chilly but not bitter-cold. The sky is clear, and there’s no humidity! So grab some blankets, bring a warm drink and lay back to enjoy the night sky.
